Arcelogical sights: The Ceide Fields a stone age settlement dating back to 5000 years old is a must for those with an interest in history. It is located north west of Ballina near Ballycastle.Moyne and Rosserk Abbeys will be on your route to Killala which is steeped in history.

 

 Knock Shrine: Is an important place of pilgrimage for thousands of people around the world.

 

 Museums:  The museum of country life is located at Turlough House and gives an important insight into life throughout the past 150 years.

Other places of interest are the North Mayo Family Research Centre in Crossmolina,Foxford Wollen Mills and Hennigans Heritage Farm.

Cycling:  A wide variety of cycling routes can be explored .
 
Water Sports and Surfing at Enniscrone beach  with  Northwest Surf School  contact  Shane( 087 959 5556)    Lacken and Easkey all within 20 mins drive of Ballina.
 
Beaches:  The golden sandy beach of Enniscrone is just 10 mins drive ,watch the waves roll in across an unspoilt expanse of sand,walk,surf or dive.
 
Golf:  The links courses of Enniscrone which is 10 minutes drive ,Carn, and Rosses point are within 1 hour drive. These courses have spectacular scenery, dramatic dunes, superb greens and inspirational designs.
 
Shopping:  Ballina has a wide variety of designer shops and large retail chains. There is something to suit everybody.
 
Dining Out:  Spoilt for choice Ballina has a large selection of local and international cusine. Award winning pubs with traditional Irish music.
